Ready for another one?

Hello...Me again!

I am so excited about this one even though it is plainly obvious that it is handmade! A sweet member of my group The StampersUnite sent me a white gel pen and I have completed 2 cards with it so far! You can see that I need a lot of practice! But isn't that how we make perfect?

This card fold is called the Stair Step Fold that I found on SplitCoastStampers (Key words TLC190) and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. It is soooo versatile and the possibilities are endless!
I did this card very simple since it was my first one!
Actually, when I started, I was just practicing and it would up being a card! Do you ever do that?
I am also excited because I finally got the hang of the ribbon knot, which took me forever to conquer, but I was stubborn and kept practicing and got it!!!

This is the side image of the card! Told you it is simple! But I have lots of ideas for more and if you want inspiration, just go look at the almost 300 photos on SCS at the link above!
I am having a swap using this fold on my group, The StampersUnite! At least if I get enough sign-ups, I am! I will be very disappointed if it doesn't go! I just love this fold!
I have another fold that I am currently working on that I really like and will post the cards when I am finished with them!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed the Icandy today! See ya tomorrow!

Absence Makes the Heart Grow fonder???

Hi Yall,
I know! I know! I have been gone too long! I had a heart problem at the end of October and had to have a stent installed to keep the motor running! Can't say good as new, but working on it! A whole new lifestyle for me! Have had to give up most of the foods that I love! I was already learning to eat healthy before this happened, but it was to late! I already had a blockage in the artery!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and the new Year to come will bring you many blessings from Jesus!
Anyway, Christmas got my mojo going and I have been making some cards and 1 project that I will be sharing with you. I will do them in separate posts between tonight and tomorrow!
The first one I want to share is a little gifty I made for hubby for Christmas! I got this project from a video from ChicnScratch Here on how to cover a compostion Notebook.
It is very hard for me to come up with something for him. I wanted it to be tasteful and not cutsy! I don't think men (especially my hubby) would enjoy cutsy! So, it took me more than a week to figure out all the details and I still keep thinking that I could have done better! What do you think?

I wound up using stickers on it and was kind of disappointed that I had to do that, but I was out of time and had to do something! It still looks manly though, doesn't it? He said he liked it, but he would never tell me if he didn't.

Here is the card I made him.....really got in a hurry and used Jolees on this one!

That is what I get for doing them at the last minute! LOL!
I would love to hear your comments on these and thanks for stopping by!

Twas the Night Before Christmas!

Not the writer, but thought this was so cute!

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa, and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly, And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"

Merry Christmas!!!

Hubby Thinks I need Exercise ~ Therego my new toy!

I just had to share this with you! Last week hubby sold my beautiful non running Buick Park Avenue and down..er upgraded me to a Nissan Pathfinder 4 wheel drive that does run. I went from total luxury to a 5 speed. Even though I miss my Buick, I have no problem with driving a stick. This is not the end of it though! As if that is not enough new exercise between clutching, shifting and almost no power compared to the Buick, he thought I needed more exercise! LOL! A few days later he came home with this......

I was absolutely thrilled! This is a 1962 Huffy Bicycle! One of the reasons I am so thrilled, is that I had one when I was about 9 years old. It was stolen from the side of our house and my mother swore she would never buy me another bike because I left it on the side of the house to be stolen. I felt horrible and my mother never bought me another bicycle! I loved that bike so much too! Hubby did not know this and the funny part is this bike looks exactly like the one that was stolen! How great, huh! Now I just have to get my 51 year old body out and get the nerve to ride it! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs Lori

Good Morning

I am hoping this will be a quick post as I spent a long time the other day trying to send the post for my convention loot! While trying to format, blogger kept removing my pictures! I am hoping to out smart it today! I loaded all my pictures and will attempt to type around them. Please forgive me if this post is messy, as I have a lot to get accomplished today! I have a huge list and am crossing things off as I go!

Remember the other day, I said I would sharemy convention make n takes! Well I am finally getting a round to it! So sorry it has taken so long!

This first picture is not my making! It is an ATC from my friend Debbie who is in our stamp club! Isn't this stunning! I just had to share and don't know if you can see it in the picture, but she did this on artists canvas! Sorry for the bit of glare. Took these in a hurry, so I would not forget! Teehee!

The card below was so much fun to make, but I messed up
the glitter glue, trying to get it home. I think I can repair it
though. You know what really bugs me, is that I can't for the
life of me remember what company I did this with. The paper
behind the image (Green), is called Black Magic, if that helps
any!

This one I remember well, because they were
the only other paper company there, besides Marco's!
I did this one at The paper Cut . Isn't it sooo cute!
My picture is not straight though! If you look at
the black layer at the top...see where it is flat...
that is the top of the card and also the hinge!
Am I making sense? The card opens from the
black layer, not the pink!

A couple of hours later they changed Venues
and I went back and made this tag card! So fun
and they had another one that I missed early in
the day with an acetate frame! Shucks!

I did not make this tag, but love it and wanted
to share it. It was made as a Demo at Rubbernecker,
where I bought my Nestibilities (that is how I
remembered this one). The reason I like this
so much, was that the background area was
made with a tool (similar to the one you use
for the felt on alcohol inks), that holds a pad to
add ink to your c/s. Unfortuneatly funds ran out
before I could buy some, but they are defineately
on my list (wishing that is!)

Another reason for this post is when I lost my
pc a few weeks ago, apparently I lost my signature
here too, so I am attempting to add it back! Lets
hope it shows up! LOL!

Maybe I will post again later.....no promises
though! Busy day ahead! Have a great day and
thanks for stopping by!

It's Me Again!! Somthing new to share!

I just found a site that sells Asian stamps and I was amazed at what I saw. The stamps are on white rubber (never saw that before), mounted on acrylic blocks (not this either), with the index in color under the Acrylic. The company is called Kodomo, Inc. and the designs are beautiful too! You really should go and take a look! Thanks for stopping by! TTFN Lori

A Fantabulous Video!!!

Hi Stampers,

I just had to share this fabulous video that Crystal shared on CCB group last night! You really must go and watch it......I promise you won't be sorry!

This video is made by Becca at Amazing Paper Grace blog. You can see her amazing cards that she has made on her blog! She uses Nestibilities and corner punches to make the most beautiful design and shows you how to do it too!

You can go to see the video here. This is such a sweet treat and I am so happy to share it with the world. Thank you Crystal for sharing it and thank you Becca for your great Video!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! Happy Monday & Happy Stamping! I will hopefully try to post again later.

Convention Loot!

Hi Everyone,
I went to Convention in Greenville, SC yesterday! I had so much fun...met with old friends that I haven't seen in quite sometime, did Make N Takes and of course shopped til I was ready to drop! LOL!

Here is what I have wanted for a whole year (at least)! Yea!!! Now I have 2 sets of Nestibilities!!

I just love all of the designs made with scallops and did not want to buy a bunch of punches. They take up way to much space and overall you get more Bang for your buck with the Nesties! It would have cost me somewhere in the range of (or maybe more than) $200.00 to buy 6 punches and then I doubt that you could find all of these sizes in punches. Can you see the price I paid for these? Fantastic!!! Only $20.00 from Rubbernecker! I think this was a convention special! Marco's paper had them too, but they were $25.00 a piece. I must say they had a better selection though! I really wanted the larger scallops, but this was more in my budget (which was almost gone! LOL!)

Marco's Paper had a wonderful selection of both Nestibilities and Cuttlebug Folders. They didn't have any of the New Nesties, but they did have some of the Newer CB folders and if you know me, you know that I love my CuttleBug! They had some great paper too! Teehee!

Anyway, I could not resist...I bought 1 of the already known folders and 1 of the newer ones (which is actually 5 in 1) at Marco's!

I have wanted this "Diamonds in the rough" for a long time and whoopie! Now I have it!

The newer one I bought is called "With Love" and it is 5 boarders
in 1. They come apart and you can put them anwhere on your card that you want to! I am going to have so much fun with this one!
Isn't it amazing the things they keep coming up with to make our craft so much easier and even more fun all the time!

I will post later with the Make N Takes that I made and hopefully (If time allows) get some cards made to show you with my new goodies! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Sunday!

Please, I am begging you to go watch it! It could save your life!

Please share it with all of your friends and loved ones too!

My very 1st set of Nestibilities!

I am so stinkin excited! A wonderful friend (who wishes to remain anonymous) has gifted me with my very 1st set! Here they are......are they cool or what!

I am so blessed by Jesus to have such a wonderful friend, aren't I.

She spoils me rotten and has sent me other amazing gifts, like the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and so much more.

This is not what makes her my friend though. She is a loving, supportive and talented person. I am so honored to have her for my friend. This is why I respect her wish to remain anonymous!

She also sent me this great ATC! I just love ATC'S, don't you! I told you she is talented!

Thank you my sweet friend for just being my friend!
May the love of Jesus bless you!

Shades of Green!

Good Morning,
I am so far behind on my swaps!
I made these 2 cards for our shades of Green swap, although I only need one! LOL! Green is my favorite color in all the world. I love all colors but Green signifies Peace, tranquility and new birth. It just relaxes me!

The top card is of course a House Mouse Design Gruffie Bear called Party Preparations VR1005
on Lime Green cs. The background behind the image is a Glossy green cs made with Gold Pearl-Ex powder & PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive).

Both of these cards are my very first attempt at using my Prisma Pencils with Gamsol (Oderless Mineral Spirits). I think they came out pretty good, except for the balloon. It was harder to get the color to blend well on that one. Just means I need more practice in larger areas. I was also thinking of stamping something in the balloon, like Happy Birthday or Celebrate!

This House Mouse Image is called "Make a Wish" #HMGR1011.
Also done on Lime Green c/s, run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Folder. The dark green piece was cut with scalloped decorative scissors and I didn't like the way the corners came out, so I punched them with my new corner rounder.
Then just under the image is this gorgeous Background paper, which you can't see how shimmery it is in the photo. I don't know who makes it, as it was gifted to me in a swap. If you know, I would love to know. The Happy Birthday Stamp is from an old
Hero Arts set called "Calligraphy Message Stamps". They may have been discontinued by now, as I bought them in the early 1990's.
Thanks for stopping by! Now I will go try to get some more done today to share with you! Hugs Lori

I AM SO HONORED!!!!!

Isn't this fantastic! I couldn't believe it when I got a post from Carolyn to go see a message for me on her blog!
Sue sent it to her and she has honored me with it and her kind words brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Carolyn for this great honor and all the nice things you said about me. I am so glad that I have had such a great influence on you Sweetheart. I can't take all of the credit though! You are a fantastic artist and I am so proud to know you and that you have taken on the House Mouse Monday blog Challenge and become one of the Design Team, as well. And thank you Sue for sending this to Carolyn. She truly deserves it!

Now for the fun part! This was also so challenging, because there are so many bloggers out there that I would just love to give this to, but alas I can only pick 7 and know of soooo many more.

Here are the rules:
1. The winner can put the logo on their blog
2. Link the person you received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

So Here goes:

1). Judy at Judy's Crazy for Cards Judy is an amazing artist and has been the most wonderful friend. Although we have never met in person, she has been my rock and has given me soooo much encouragement both physically and mentally! Thank you Judy for being such a great friend!

2). Kimberly at Kimberly's Creative Corner Kimberly is amazing! I think...does she sleep? She is not only a great artist, but she teaches classes, sells crafts, has recently started blogging (and does a fantastic job...go look), has her own stamp club (which someday I hope to check out), is a very active member on my House Mouse group and is a Mother & Wife! When life trys to kick her, she gets right back up and goes on! Her stamping life is her full time job and she goes at it with gusto! Kim...please send me some of your energy!

3). Jovita at Inky Impressions Jovi, as I nicknamed her long ago has been such an inspiration for so long. Her cards are fabulous and I am always so excited to receive them. I have actually made an album to hold just her cards. I also love reading about her Harley riding adventures in Colorado! Her blog has also added quite a few new members to my House Mouse group. She also loves Penny Black, as you will see if you go take a looksy at her blog.

4). Terry at Terry's Krazy Place Terry is a new blogger and has done a wonderful job of setting it up! I really want to encourage her to keep up the good work! I know she is out shopping for more mice today! Go Terry!

5). Dawn at Dawns Stamping Thoughts Dawn is Fabulous! Her blog has been so inspirational and I believe I have tried more of her projects than any others! She has fantastic videos to go see and just when you think she should be running out of projects, she comes up with something new! Thank you Dawn for all of your inspiration!

6). Mel at Mel Stampz Mel has some amazing Tutorials and if you look down her sidebar, her blog could keep you busy for days! She does such a great job at explaining everything. My favorite is her Cuttlebug tutorials, which is the link I have added here! You must go see it, if you haven't already.

7). Kim at Clearly Inspired Kim is obviously Inspired and shares her great talent with the blogging world, also through some wonderful videos and tutorials! I love her blog! Thank you Kim for being so generous in sharing your projects!

Whew! That was hard! While doing this I came up with so many more I would love to share! Hmmm! I wonder if I could create my own blog award to share the others with? LOL! Or maybe, I will do a post with some great blog links in the near future! Would you like to see that?

Carolyn, thank you so much for sharing this honor with me!

Thank you all for stopping by and sharing my excitement! Please leave a comment! I just love your input! Hugs Lori

I am a WINNER!!!!

I am so excited! I shared a tip yesterday on Oriental Stamp Arts, a yahoo group I am on and I won the Thursday tip Prize! I never win anything! I guess I can't say that any more! LOL!

Here is the tip I shared:
How often do you come up with a great tip, totally by accident?

I did this week and it was just a matter of remembering to send it. LOL! I was working on a swap card relating to chocolate and had this great background paper. Sometimes when your cutting blade is a little worn, they don't cut regular paper stock to well. I only had 1 sheet of this precious paper and it has chocolate on it. When I cut the edges, they came out frayed.....Ugh! What could I do to fix this? A lightbulb went off in my head......I have a Cuttlebug and a Sizzix Scalloped frame! I put the panel on and ran it through my CB! Viola! From this, I now had a nice rectangle piece and a frame piece, both very nicely cut. I got 2 cards out of 1 1/4 sheet panel from this. You don't even have to use this to rescue your cuts, but I was sure glad I had the option!

Enjoy!

I am so happy that my tip was appreciated, as I almost didn't send it. I hope it helps you in your projects too! Thanks for stopping by! Oh! By the way, this tip is for the 2 cookie cards I posted yesterday!

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Hi Stampers,

I made 2 cards with the same images, but a different look for a swap I am a bit late on!

This one I used a Cuttlebug page that someone sent me in the mail (Paisley) and my sizzix scalloped frame for the chocolate frame. I don't think you can see the chocolate in the paper very well though!

The stamps from this card and the next on are from Great Impressions and Ann-ticipations and I used brown Memories ink. I am still trying to get used to blogging, so please forgive my lousy description of supplies. It has been a long day and I am getting tired. Here is the other card.

And the same card taken standing up. I did the edge with a pair of decorative scissors!

See! I do stamp other than House Mouse! LOL! I am happy with the way they turned out! What do you think? I would love to hear your opinion, so please make a comment.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

A Reason For Not Blogging

Hi Everyone, This time I have a reason for not being here. I had a really bad virus hit my pc (I think hubby opened something he shouldn't have) and had to erase my hard drive and start over. I lost everything....all photos, documents..all of it. This was not the main problem though. My pc absolutely refused to do the Vista Service Pack 1 Update!
So, I spent most of last week and yesterday on the phone with Microsoft Technicians. After taking hours each time trying to download this very important update (pc won't run well without these updates being done), I was getting so frustrated. Finally last night we found the problem! Want to know what it was?
It was McAfee Antivirus Program!!! Even though I disabled it, it still would not allow the service pack from MICROSOFT to download!!! I have been telling Mark for years that I hated McAfee and they always caused problems with my pc's. I knew it..I knew it!!!! I tried to uninstall it after I had cleaned my hard drive, but it refused to uninstall. I had to give the Microsoft Tech "Narendran" permission to access my computer, so he could remove it for me. Let me tell you, it is very interesting to watch movement from somewhere else on you pc while you are not doing anything! So Wierd!

Anyway all in all, I dealt with 3 different Microsoft Technicians over the last week and I can't say enough about how wonderful they are. They were so helpful and patient, especially that I am going deaf made it a bit harder. Besides the great feeling of finally getting it loaded Narendran, The Tech thanked ME for being so patient while we resolved the issue. How great is that!

Now my machine is clean and has my good antivirus program installed that McAfee fought against tooth and nail. I am a happy blogger today! Thanks for stopping by and listening to my pc woes! I will try to post some cards later today!

I am going to go work on some projects now. I hopw you all have a great evening.

Happy Monday

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!
What do you think of this card? Pretty bad coloring huh! I did this image before I got my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I didn't want to waste it, so I went ahead and made a card. I used a glitter Gel pen on the stars on the flag and the image is called "Show your colors" #HMLR1006 from Stampabilities. The "Freedom" stamp is from the Studio g clear stamps. I also used some star ribbon that I found at Hobby Lobby. Thanks for stopping by...hopefully my coloring will show a definite improvement on my next cards.

Frazzled!!

Got about 2 hours of sleep last night...went to bed about 3a.m. and these cute little critters of mine decided that I should get up at 5a.m., so that they could go out and bark at the fleas on the lawn. LOL! Aren't my babies cute!
Then the clock went off at 6:00 so I could get up, shower and get ready for appt. with Audiologist, so he could tell me that my hearing is much worse than it was the last time I saw him. He really was no help and I feel that it cost $65.00 out of pocket for nothing.

Anyway, when we left there Mark drug me around for awhile shopping and looking at cars (He is trying to find me a new (used) car). We also went to Good Will, where Mark bought me 2 chairs for my stamp room, as the 2 I have are really bad. No I have a new problem...can't get the seats raised up and they are way to low. I feel like I am sitting on the floor trying to type this. We then stopped off at the Humane Society to get Flea & Tick meds for babies. By the time we got home I was starving and exhausted. Ate something and went and napped for a couple of hours.

Now for the highlight of my day...the mail!!!! It was so great to receive 2 great cards, from StampersUnite & The Best of House Mouse members. The funny part is they are also good friends with each other and my very dear friends too! The first card was a Birthday card from Judy, who is also on the Design Team for Firecracker Designs By Pamela. She made a Birthday card on Technique Junkies and said now she needed someone to send it to. It had 50 on it and I teased her and told her that if she changed the zero to a one, she could send it to me! Well, she did! Here is her great card I'm sorry about cutting the top off..I was lucky to get the picture as my other fur baby (Lucy Twos) wanted to sit on the card and then my batteries on the camera were getting low. I took 6 pictures before I gave up.

She also included these cute little Metal Dots. I don't have any of these and can't wait to play with them.
Thank you so much my sweet Darlin Parlin! You are so sweet and this fantastic card really brought some cheer to a crummy day!

The other card I received was from Kathay for our SUGMS (StampersUnite Monthly swap) and the theme was to concentrate on a technique and send instructions with your card made with this technique.........I am in love with this card!

Kathay's instructions say she used Alcohol Inks in water for the background here. What a fabulous look, huh! It is so realistic! The Koi is by Stamp Zia and the words at the top "Be the Change you wish to see in the world -Ghandi" are from Impression Obsession. Kathay also used Bubbles! I must find out where these are from. What a great effect.Thank you so much Kathay....i can't wait to go try this technique! I just love alcohol inks and now I have another way to use them. Thank you for sending so much information on this card.

Now the whole time I have been trying to do this post, I have had a horrible headache, so I am going to go back to bed. Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment. I would love your feedback on how I am doing, since I have not been blogging long. I am trying to post more often too!

Have a good evening.

I've been making some Mousies!

These are a few cards that I have made recently with House Mouse stamps from Stampabilities. This first one has already been received by Monika for our Brown/Blue color swap. I had so much fun making this one. the project and colors just fell into place.

This one gave me a hard time. The image has wallpaper on top normally and I had a horrible time coloring it. I did not have the patience to color all the leaves and flowers, so I finally gave up and chopped the top off and then it was easy peasy! If you enlarge the photo, you will see that the little tag in the right corner says mischief maker. I still have this one to send for one of my swaps.

I just love this image. Do you remember collecting these dolls and playing with their hair when you were a kid? I guess this kind of dates me, doesn't it. This one is also waiting to go to a new home.

This next one is also one that I had a hard time with and sat on my desk looking at me for weeks until one night it jumped up and said here is what you do. LOL! It is already at its new home with Darlene.

Do you ever make a card and like it so much, that you don't want to give it away? This is the one I wanna keep (but know that I won't). I had so much fun with this one and it looks like fun, doesn't it! I used a piece of plastic that something came in and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Then the question was, how to attach it and I found these cute little flower brads and it worked perfectly. Sorry that the picture is a little blurry.

This last one is stamped on glossy paper, then covered with a post it note. I then took a compressed sponge and inked it with a re-inker and pulled the ink from the post-it note out to the edge of the c/s for the bright pink design.

Well I finally figured out what to do so that I have my pictures where I want them here in the blog....Just set it for no layout. This way I can type what I want with my pictures! Still on a learning curve!

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and tell me what you think of my cards. Lori

Clipboard Project for Hubby's Birthday!

I have been working on Altering a clipboard for hubby's birthday present and it has been a task.....not because of the actual physical work, but coming up with a theme, an idea. I wanted to do something that would portray his intelligence, as well as his interests. I started this project months ago and put it away hoping to think of an idea. I painted a clipboard (not the one I gave him) in Olive Green & Pearl Blue Lumiere Metallic Acrylic paints. I then printed out a bunch of Dover clip art in black only (printer color cartridges are empty) and colored the images with chalk
then sprayed with fixative so the black printer ink would not run if wet. I then used Mod Podge to adhere them to the clipboard.....to make a long story short....hated it....this is the one!

Soooooo, I started over with a clean clipboard. No Paint this time! I used Mod Podge to adhere 2 12" x 12" sheets of designer paper, front & back....then a new problem arose...what to do with the empty top part and the ugly clip. I took out my alcohol inks (Adirondak) and dabbed them all over the clips and the little initial pieces, then adhered the little initials with Scor-Tape, from the makers
of Scor-Pal (Link below Right). Now I still had the problem with the blank top and it looked really ugly with nothing there. I know...I Know....Mulberry Paper! Well, I couldn't find it in this mess...oh where could it be. After looking for an hour, I finally found it...mod podged it on and used my water color pen to tear the excess around the back to make it fit, almost perfectly. I think it makes a nice topper, what do you think? Here is the final result of the one I gave him last night.
.
This is the back and the photo to the far right is the front. Had a little trouble getting the html code to cooperation on the positioning of the photos! LOL! I will learn!

I am really pleased with the final result. You know how it is when you sort of have an idea in your head but can't quite get it out in to a realistic project? Well I do this all the time and most of the time, it turns out totally different than I thought it would.

I have a harder time with men's projects and cards than with other subjects. I would love to hear what you think of this clipboard project. Please post a comment and tell me what you think. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs Lori

Fathers Day ~ Slider

Hi Stampers, Just thought I would share the card I made my Father-in-law for Fathers day. You can really tell I am new to this camera. I am sorry for the blurriness. I tried to edit them and the card has already gone with dh to work and he will go see his father after work tonight!

This card looks much better in person...much more vibrant. I had so much fun doing this fun slider card. I got the information from a video on Where the Rubber hits the Road Blog months ago by Linda Heller! I believe this is one from her A-Z tutorials and it is call the Hi-Lo card.
I was not into doing slider cards until I found this one and I had just bought my Crop-O-Dile, so adding the eylets was really easier for me.

I have had these stamps forever, but I just love them, especially the Mustang! My very first car was a 1965 Mustang and I had a few since then.

Stamp Credits: Mustang - Classic Status Stamp Co. (May be out of business), Dad - That's all she stamped, Sparkplug - Gumbo Graphics Stamp works. I am not sure if any of these companies are still in business.

Anyway, the red fur behind the photo is my Cat Lucy! She decided she wanted to be my backdrop and the best light I could find without glare was outside natural light.

Hopefully I will be posting again sooner, as I just loaded 56 pictures to pc (my work and others, along with furbabies). Thanks for stopping by and Happy Fathers Day!

My New Baby

This is my New Baby....She is actually black though, but sweeeet! Sorry for the glare in the photo, but try as I might, I couldn't get rid of it. I can't tell you how happy I am not to have to use a scanner anymore!
Sweet Jane sent me a link to making a photo box, which I have yet to do, but I have to deal with one project at a time, so some of my photos may not be so great at first, although I can't blame the camera.
The only thing is, I have never used a digital camera before, so I have been nuts trying to learn all the bells & whistles since Saturday, when I brought her home.
Last night after getting a backdrop set-up, I took 33 Pictures of cards, none of which were made by me! LOL! 13 of which are from a German House Mouse Group, the Nice-Mice! Anyway, as I have time, I will show you some of them and more. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs Lori

Actually my new toy....Oh, but I am so excited! Be back in a bit! Yup! Gonna make you wait!! Hugs Lori

Out Of My Box

Hi Stampers, It has been awhile since I posted, so I thought I better get to it. I have been really busy and the days just seem to fly by.

I made this card and I am so pleased with the way it came out. It is a bit Out-Of-My-Box, because I am so ribbon challenged and through my blogging experience I learned how to tie the
knot. It only took me watching a video over and over again to get er done, though! Another thing that is really Out-Of-My-Box is layouts and I am working on changing my style and actually doing
some layouts on my cards.

So, I would love to hear what you think of this card. The scan is not the greatest, but I am hoping that before the week is out, I will have a brand new digital camera! Eeeek! I am so Jazzed about it and can't wait to get my hot little hands on it!
At the moment, since we are having electrical problems in the house (only half having electricity), I have to unplug this very heavy duty extension chord to plug in my old PC to use my scanner (not compatible with Vista). Then I have to save the scans to my Flash drive and transfer here, Shut-down and Unplug old pc, so I can have power back in my bedroom! Ugh! Lotsa work!

Happy Stampin and if I get time I will post again later or tomorrow! Hugs Lori

Something about me you didn't Know!

I know this is odd, but I just started thinking about something I want to share with you that I don't share with many people. It kind of holds some mystery to it! As long as I can remember, since I was a little girl I have loved boxes.....not your everyday box, but Hat Boxes, Decorative Boxes, Cigar Boxes, Trunks and especially any that had hidden compartments. I like the ones that have secrets or surprises in them. I also love old houses that have hidden rooms, rooms with hidden doors and strange rooms. Is this weird or what? Does anyone else feel like this?
Do you ever have moments where things like this just pop into your head? Would love to hear your comments on this.

A Tribute to Charleton Heston

A TRIBUTE TO CHARLTON HESTON
10/04/1923 TO 04/05/2008

This is not the normal type of post that I would send to the group, but do you ever feel like you have a personal connection with a celebrity? I believe this is the only actor in my life that was a true lover of God & Jesus. He was (in my eyes) a good man and true Christian.

Charlton Heston passed away last night. Being my one & only favorite actor, this has had a deep affect on me this morning. I was so shocked when I turned on my pc to see this.

Charlton my prayers are with you as you sit at the right hand of Jesus and your family who loved you and grieves for you. For those who loved him and are interested in reading about him here is the link to a news article about his life and passing. Hugs Lori

This card that I made for the MAR swap was a real challenge and I don't think it will ever be repeated by me at least. I used seam binding up each side of the image and it was not easy adhering it to the panel. Is it too much with the background plaid panel? I sort of like it. Do you ever have a card that you have done and you like it, but are unsure of what your recipient will like it?

I would love to hear your comments on it. Thanks for stopping by. Lori

Kissing A Bird!

This is one that I made. At first this little image drove me nuts. I usually have a hard time working with smaller images. It isn't the small image, so much as it is the space around it. Since I have been blogging so much lately I am getting all kinds of inspiration. The background on this is a metallic blue and I made the diamond design with my Scor-Pal. I just love that thing. I am just amazed at what I can accomplish with it.

So, what do you think of my lay-out? I would love to hear your comments.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Great Mouse-A-Round Card

I received this great card from Kimberly for our MAR (Mouse-A-Round) Swap! Isn't it Stunning! The paisley paper really goes nice with the strawberries! Don't you just love this image! I do! I like all of the House Mouse images with Strawberries. I love strawberries!
Thank you Kimberly for this great work of art and the extra goodies you sent me too!

Be Back in a Minute with a new post!

Great Mail Day today!

Hi Everyone!
I had a wonderful day today! Isn't this card stunning!
I got this card from a member and dear friend Linda Abby for our MAR swap, which means "Mouse-a-round.
I am just in love with this card and I have a special way to display my favorites and this one will definitely be on that display! Linda was also so generous as to send me and embossing folder "Swiss Dots" for my Cuttlebug!
Thanks you so much Linda! You are the greatest!

Its a House Mouse Day!

This is another card I had so much fun making.
The letters are from the same pack of foam letters on the "Make a wish card". One of my House Mouse group friends (Lisa) sent me the letters and another
friend from my group sent me this fabulous pre-cut book card. I used a gold leafing pen for the top pages and on the side of the spine, I used a Sekura Gel pen to write Mouse Tails. I am afraid you can barely see it.
I was so tickled with this card and it will be going in the mail to one of my Mousie friends this week. It is
actually dark blue, not black and looks much better in person than in the scan.
It is not the scanner that is my problem. I can edit them without any problem on the scanner program. It is the Adobe starter edition on this new pc that changes the look when I transfer them. They come in really dull and I hit fix and I think it does a really bad job of fixing it. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to get the advanced edition or buy a new photo editing program. I already have a great program...Print Shop, but it is not compatible with windows Vista!!! This really burns me that Microsoft and other companies do this! They upgrade products and force you to buy new programs or as in my case do without! Sorry about the rant! It is like a burr in my saddle! LOL!
Well gotta run....lots to do today......I may send another card your way later today with another post. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stampin!

Happy Monday!

Trying to start off on an upbeat note, but another gloomy day here in the South (weather wise that is!). I really miss the sunshine! This weather is so weird! We get 1 or 2 days of beautiful Spring like weather with Sunshine and warmth!
I am now on the 3rd book of the "Left Behind " books "Nicolae" and about half way through it.

If I did absolutely nothing else, I could read all 12 of them in a week, but we all know how that is. You can't just stop the world and get off for a week! LOL!

I received this card from a member of my group Karyn, for the Getting to know you swap. Isn't it adorable! I just love the Happy Hoppers and frogs too! It was the perfect card to send me. Karyn is so talented! Thank you so much Karyn!

Well thanks for stopping by and I will probably come back later and show some more of my cards. Happy Stampin! Hugs Lori

More Cards!

I just love this image and made a couple of them. If I can ever find some Gamsol, I would like to change to coloring with my Prismacolor Pencils.

I am also finding that I want to start using smaller images, so that I can add more elements to my cards.

Later in the week, I will share some great cards that I have received lately and give you some fantastic Icandy!

Now lets see if I can get another picture up for you.
Well I got the "Make a Wish" Card Loaded, but the layout is not what I wanted. I had so much fun making that card. I used these foamy letters that one of my House Mouse Friends sent me and those little letters are like Gold to me! I just love em!
I think I will save some more to show you tomorrow! I have to go wake up Mark (hubby) as he has been off today and slept most of the day off and on! He is suffering with a broken toe and a
really bad toothache! It will be off to the Dentist for him tomorrow! At least I hope he will go so he feels better. You know how men are when they don't feel well....wimper...wine! LOL!
Have a great evening and see ya tomorrow! Hugs Lori

Remember Me?

Yup! I am still here.....just sometimes life gets in the way, so I haven't been able to post lately.

I want to share with you my Saturday! I went shopping with a dear sweet friend yesterday!Boy, did we have fun! It started with her picking me up and bringing me a glazed donut and a bottle of Pepsi (My all time favorite drink!). From there we went to Hobby Lobby and we stayed there long enough that we were hungry, so we stopped and had a little burger at McDonalds, then on to a Stamp Store. After we left the stamp store we headed to a Scrapbooking store and then on to A.C. Moore. Needless to say we spent no less than an hour in each place and more money than we should have. After A.C. Moore we carried our tired hungry behinds over to Cracker Barrel (By this time it was evening). Believe it or not we had another stop before she brought me home. We stopped at Walgreens, so my sweet friend could by a ton of candy to donate to Meals-on-Wheels. Isn't that a nice thing for her to do!

I must share that this sweet friend spoiled me rotten while we were out. She bought me a stamp and a Cuttlebug Embossing folder, amoung other items and paid for our dinner. Thank you Derenda! You are such a special person and I am honored and proud to have you as my friend.

I also wanted to share some cards that I have been working on.....Yup! I figured out a way to use my scanner by setting up my old pc, scanning the cards and transferring them to my little zip drive and then transferring them on to this pc. A little bit of a pain, but at least I can scan them. Hope you like them!
The one at the top is the first one and they look much better in person than the scan shows them. That little mouse is flying to Canada as I type this. It is for a Getting to Know You swap and it is a card I am very proud of because I don't usually use ribbon on my cards because I am ribbon challenged. I am trying very hard to get out of that rut and do things that I don't usually do on my cards. I just love the Harlequinn background paper. As a matter of fact that is the stamp my friend Derenda bought me yesterday....a Harlequinn Design.

I will send them in separate posts because I am having a hard time getting them uploaded under my post. Watch for the next post in a few minutes!
