Happy Birthday Mom!

Even though I know my Mother won't see this card here on the internet, (not a pc person), I thought I would share it with you! Today is her Birthday and she is 72 years young! Please don't tell her I told you that! LOL! Actually, I don't think she would mind me sharing how young she is!

My mothers favorite color has always been blue and every year I struggle to make a card with blues! Blue is one of my least favorite colors and funny thing is that Pink is too! But I decided to go out of my box this year and went for the Pink and green! Except for some slight flaws that just make it look hand made, I think it came out o.k! What do you think? Please leave me a comment and give me your opinion. I would love to know what you think of this card.

This is my first time making a card with my new Large Deckle Nestibilities! Also, I used the small Oval Nesties and a Cuttlebug Slider Die for the word Mom. I just love that set! I used Bazzill Basics Card Stock, with Basic Gray Designer Paper. All inks are Versacolor Pink and Green Tea! Pink Grograin ribbon that I bought at Hobby Lobby!

Stamp Credits: Mom~ My Sentiments Exactly, Tulip~Penny black, Happy Birthday~Studio G.

Well, Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I will be able to have something to post for you tomorrow! Have a great day and a great weekend! Happy Stamping!

Convention Goodies!

Hi and how are you today!
I really am going to try to start blogging more than I have been lately. This post won't be long though!
Today I want to share with you my goodies! On Saturday I went to our local Stamping & Scrapbooking convention hosted by Heirloom Productions.
Most of my day was spent doing some really fun make-n-takes, which I will share in the next few days!
My favorite place to shop was at Marco's Paper! Did you know that they have a blog? It is so cool to watch as they share about the convention I just went to!
Anyway, funds were very low, so I only bought a few things (Spent less than $25.00...not bad eh!). Could you do that?
I don't know if you know this, but my Cuttlebug is my absolute favorite tool to use, especially with embossing folders. Here is the new folder I bought called "Bird Call". Isn't it cute!
My other favorite tool are the Nestibilities....Oh how I would love to have them all! Well I bought my 3rd set on Saturday! The funny part is that I had others in mind when I went. I knew that I was going to buy one set before I even got there, but I was thinking of either a labels set (The one I wanted had just been cleaned out) or a rectangle set. I really wasn't crazy about the rectangle choices, so when I saw this large Deckle set, I new it was perfect for me! I have always loved my Deckle Edged scissors, so this was just ideal. Aren't they purty!!!!
The neat thing to is that Spellbinders has now inserted a card inside with sandwiches to all machines. I thought that was really cool, even though I have mine already figured out with my CuttleBug!
I will also share some ATC's that I made with these new SpellBinders, Nestibilities soon too!
Thanks for stopping by and I would love a comment if you care to leave one. Hugs Lori

Card share & Happy Birthday Nicole!!

Hi Everyone,
I know it has been forever since I last posted, so I thought I would share these Happy Hopper (Stampabilities) cards that I made for a House Mouse Swap I am having on my group! I know they are not a Mouse, but since Fall is around the bend, I thought this would be a great image to use. The images are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol (Oderless mineral spirits). The Frame is cut using my Sizzix Scalloped Frame die and the paper is very shimmery. It is hard for me to tell you who's cardstocks I have used, as I have had them for a long time. I have recently discovered that I just love this shimmery c/s. You can stamp directly on it too and the look is stunning!

This is the same image done in Red and the frame was run through my Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots folder.
Hope you like them and I will try to post more often. Now check out Nicoles Birthday Blog Candy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE!!!!!!! Monday was Nicole's birthday (Owner of Inky Impressions), and in honor of her birthday, she is offering up some serious Blog candy.Click here to head to Nicole's blog to enter her blog candy!
Also, Inky Impressions is starting their sneak peek tomorrow Be sure to check out the DT members blogs. They are amazing.

I can't believe it........

It has been a whole month since I posted! I bet you thought I got lost! You can attribute it to spring fever, I guess! I have been kind of meloncholy and wanting to do other things, that I should do and don't!

I joined a fabulous ATC Group and have been having soooo much fun there! My 1-1/2" Notebook collection is about to go to a larger 4 or 5" Notebook! I have had ATC fever for the past month and ran one really large swap on my Group, The StampersUnite. I had 200 of those little fabulous pieces of art on my kitchen table! Wanna See........

These are 2 deep! Isn't that amazing! They were all so wonderful too! I was so proud of my group members. They followed all of the rules and everyone did such a wonderful job of following the rules and getting them to me. One was pretty late, but not through the fault of poor Karyn. She paid more that $15.00 to send it over night and it got lost in the land of the postal system for 3 weeks! I think they sent it by slow boat to China!

Here is one that I made (very happy with the way it came out), with a TJ technique called "Chalk Lines".....I just love this techinique! Now my new TJ Newsletter arrived yesterday and I have bunches of ATC's to make and I want to try to use some or all of the TJ techniques on them! That is my challenge project for the next few weeks!

I could say a lot more, but if I do, I won't get anything accomplished today! I hope you enjoyed the pictures and thanks for stopping by!

Hi Patti...thanks for stopping by and giving me a boot in the tail to get back here sweetheart!

Color Swap Card!

Here is a card I made for a color swap I am in. The colors are Kraft, Black, Red & White Creme for the image! I used some pre folded Kraft card stock for my card base. Then took the red piece and ran it through my Cuttlebug in the Allegro folder. Then I took my black document ink pad and ran it over the whole piece. I had some music note brads and attached them. The image is from Stamps Happen, a D. Morgan Design. I have had that stamp for quite some time and never used it. I love music and most of all I love God, so this is what I chose to use. You can't see it in the picture, but I used my Sekura gelly roll glitter pen in the notes and on the dots in the image to give it some sparkle and bling! I hope you like it!

Do you have stamps you have yet to ink up? I have lots of them and just need to get the time and mojo to play.

I would love to hear you comments or suggestions, so please leave one and thank you for stopping by! Hugs Lori

New card to share!

Hi, well I finally have another card to share with you! It is based on this sketch #70 from Tamera's Sketch's
It is from 2008. I think! Anyway, this sketch was the hardest for me to do. It was the cutting of that shape. Then when I finally got it cut, I realized that I had done it backwards! Ugh! To late, was not going to do it again after wrecking numerous pieces of paper and it still is not a great cut. You can't see it in the picture, but the black has a gold background stamped on it and that is why I didn't want to waste it. Anyway, aside from my obvious blunder, what do you think of this card? Isn't it cute!!! I just love that little Bee Hive and had so much fun coloring it, that I made some ATC's with it too!
I used my small circle Nestibilites on the Bee Hive Piece and the bottom pc is from a Marvy Scalloped Oval Punch (Borrowed). I honestly can't tell you about the paper, except that I adore it and only have one quarter sheet piece left....Boohoo! Don't you think it is perfect for the Bee Stamps? I do! The Bee Hive Stamp is from Hero Arts, Bee Seeing you is Museum of Modern Rubber and the little Bee in the left hand corner is a PSX stamp (Sadly no longer in business). The yellow card stock has ridges in it and is from Marcos Paper (surprised I remembered that, since I have had it for a long time) It is one of those that I only have a few of and have hoarded forever! I have decided to stop hoarding stuff and use it! Why else did I buy it! LOL! I hope you like the card as much as I do and would love to hear from you, so please leave a comment! I may make another one, slightly different (Because I am not going to try to cut that piece ever again!), because I liked it so much, that I will make one to keep! This one is already flying to Canada and should arrive there soon!

Thanks for stopping by to see me and have a great evening! Hugs Lori

I know! Valentines Day is over for some time now!

I would have to say I am stuck on Love! LOL!
Actually this first card is my 3rd and final card for a Stair Step Swap on StampersUnite! The theme was not for Valentines day specifically, but once I got started, I figured I might as well do Valentines for all 3! Can you tell that I really have a hard time making duplicate cards, exactly the same! I know I can do it, but it is not my style to repeat things over and over. If you look at previous posts, all 3 cards are different. This also depended on what I have to work with. The only stamp used on this one is "For Love" from "Annette Allen Watkins". I don't know if they are still in business or have a web site! If you have any information on it, could you let me know.
I used a Nestibilities scallope oval an used some body art bling around the scallops! This was quite a job adhering each tiny little stone! I have fingernails and the stones kept crawling under my nails. Shows how coordinated I am, huh! This card will be on its way to Canada tomorrow with some goodies with it! I don't think she checks my blog and if she does, she will just see her card ahead of time! LOL! I hope you like it and will comment on what you think about it. I have really been trying to be more blingy. Did I make it?

The card below is going to Kim a Clearly Inspired! I told her I would send her some instructions that I have on using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Well, as usual I am late!
Anyway, the card is a Spring card that I found on Dawn Griffith's Stampin Studio! If you click on the link, it will take you directly to her video to make this card. I think this is such a fabulous, easy, fun card to make! Hope you like it!

Well, this should be the end of the Valentines cards that I create for the year! I am putting my box with my stash of heart goodies away for awhile! Whew! I bet you are getting sick of them! I know I had enough and will start on some other stuff today to share! Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! Hugs!

Sharing a "Shadow Box"

The 4 pictures you see below are of the same card. I was trying to take enough pictures, so you can see the whole card. This card is called a "Shadow Box" card that I got from Dawn's Stampin Studio...her link is to the right sidebar under my favorite blogs!

This card is sooooo fun and easy to make. I punched it up a notch from Dawn's by using my small circle Nestibilties to punch the opening and the inside piece. This card is made by using 2 pieces of c/s in you choice of colors. Scor at 1/2" and 1" on each side. Cut your hole in the middle and add what you want to show through the window, decorate the outside if you wish....Then using sticky strip adhere the ends together. Then push the ends in towards the middle and the card opens like a shadow box. You can flatten it back out to mail and the receiver can push the ends together, so that they can display it any way they wish to. Can you just imagine the possibilites with this card. Sorry for the blurry picture. Sometimes I am more camera challenged than others!

The Stamp in the middle that I used is from Studio G, which has 4 Thank you type Stamps in it! I also used a staple on the front from my EK Success Stapler. They sell these at Michael's and come with the neatest staples and a little Acrylic piece with a flower behind it (don't remember who they are from though).

I hope you like the card and would love your comments or if you make one, I would love to see your version. Just let me know where you post yours and I would love to go see! Hugs Lori

I know Christmas if over..........

I know Christmas is over, but really wanted to share these cards I made with you. I am trying to get myself blogging more often (like daily if I can!). This first one went to my sweet Mother-in-law. I am so pleased with the way it came out. I have been working on changing the way I do things on my cards and adding new design elements (at least to me). The snowflake is a Sizzix Die and that will probably be the only one I cut...boohoo! Try as I might, I can't get the die to cut any more so that I can actually us them. I have run it through my CB 4 & 5 times to get a good cut and still have to fight to get the snowflake out in one piece. It is part of a set of 4 and the other ones cut o.k., but this was my favorite one. The circle is from my Nestibilities small circle die set and I pierced holes in the scallops and then took my white gel pen to the holes. Dont' you just love the saying! I stamped it before I ran it through my Cuttlebug. The stamp is from Stampendous.
I made this one for my oldest Granddaughter. Is the Santa Cute!
This is for my youngest Grandaughter!

Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment! I would love to hear what you think! Now I need to go get some more current cards done! LOL! Have a nice day! Hugs Lori

Locks of Love!

I just wanted to share with you what I did yesterday (Friday)!
Went and had the hair all cut off to donate to Locks of Love so that Cancer patients can have real hair wigs created for them!

I did this to honor my friend Sally, in the hopes that her cancer is still in remission. God Bless you darlin and I am praying for you.

The cut was free because of it being for LLL! But I did give the sylist a good tip and still spent $10. on a hair care product, so the salon still made a little $$$ from it.

This first picture is how long it was before it was cut.

This one is the hair that was cut off! They took 10-1/2 inches! And below, you can see the final result. Oh.....look at the Gray! Won't be there long though!
I really am glad to have it short. My hospital stay a couple of months ago made it really aggrevating to have and my hair grows so fast that it will be back in no time at all. I did this 3 years ago and they took 12 inches and left about an inch and a half left on my head. So you can see how fast it grows. I average about 4 inches a year. That is a lot of growth!
Thanks for stopping by! Hugs Lori

Had to share this great gift!

I had a swap on my group called "Mystery Scavenger Hunt Christmas Swap. I have run this swap numerous times and it is a loved and very successful swap! The way the swap runs is that once sign ups are complete, each week I call out 5 items and the players are to pick one of the 5 and place it in a box. At this time they have no idea who they will send to. I give them their MSH at the end of the swap. The MSH has no idea who sends to them until the package is delivered. It is such a fun swap, but since I am running it, I can't play (no secrets for me! (LOL)
List Mom's out there feel free to use the concept and if you need more info just send me a post!

Anyway, as a thank from one of the members "Jackie" who played she made and sent me these great note cards!

Here are 2 pictures...please forgive my crummy editing. Still need some practice here!

This one below is more of a close up! She also made me envelopes! Aren't they great!Jackie made this with her Justrite Stamper Monagram set (sorry, don't have the link off hand). I really want this set now! What a fabulous gift! I probably won't have the heart to ever give them to anyone! Thank you so much Jackie!
